This cake smash theme was so fun to put together! I couldn't wait to get out all my outdoor and mountain props, pinecones, and trees again! All of these fun cake smash sessions take place in my Sandy Utah photography studio and parents get to come with the theme set up, cake ready and a matching outfit to boot. We went with some greenery, a lantern, twinkling lights and a cute tree stump cake to finish off the look.

After letting Gideon play around a little bit to get comfortable, we pulled out the cake! A yummy chocolate cake with buttercream frosting decorated to look like a tree stump with mushrooms growing at the bottom! My baker is truly a genius! We had so much fun watching cute Gideon dig into his cake! I can't imagine a better theme for his cake smash pictures!

After the cake portion of the smash I will usually pull out my cream tub and fill it with some warm water so that parents can take home a clean baby instead of one covered in frosting! And why miss out on the fun when we can take pictures of that too? Obviously, the smiles did not stop there. Baby Gideon loved the splash portion and delighted us with the absolute best faces. 

I had the most fun celebrating his birthday with him and can't wait to celebrate with more sweet families the rest of this year!
