Donut Grow Up! - Sandy Cake Smash

This cake smash theme was so fun to plan!  All of these fun cake smashes take place in my Sandy Utah portrait studio and parents get to come with the theme set up, cake ready and a matching outfit to boot.We decided we wanted to do purple - because her big sis had all pink and I had to pull out my purple peonies and twinkle lights! I feel like they are just the perfect touch to any cake smash. And now I've realized this isn't a cake smash at all, it's a DONUT SMASH.

Once I figured out that Elliot dances every time you sing the "Happy Birthday Song" we spent a lot of time singing! It was so cute! We set up her donuts - delicious blueberry cake donuts from Banbury Cross - on a beautiful vintage looking cake stand and let her eat her fill! There was a moment we actually thought she was going to dive head first into those donuts! SO cute! 

After the cake portion of the smash I will usually pull out my cream tub and fill it with some warm water so that parents can take home a clean baby instead of one covered in frosting! And why miss out on the fun when we can take pictures of that too? Obviously, Elliot loved her bath too! Such a chill baby! She loved the splash portion and delighted us with the absolute best faces. I had the most fun celebrating her birthday with her and can't wait to celebrate with more sweet families the rest of this year!
